Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I have always liked technology and it was quite clear to me that I would end up doing something related to it. I started as a SAP consultant, but it wasn’t for me, and luckily I discovered the Affiliate Marketing industry.

Q: What is the best part of being a Media Buyer?

A: Maybe the best part or feeling of being a Media Buyer is turning a campaign from red to green. From investing money to making money. Always analyzing data, improving, optimizing, and applying the skills, and experience acquired.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good MB? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: Be very proactive. This industry is constantly changing and evolving and requires you to be aware of current trends and be always on the move.
In addition, it is important to continually reflect on what the data is telling us. And to draw the best conclusions from them to make the decisions that will lead us to achieve the best results.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: On my way to learning and becoming a good Media Buyer, I participated in some contests proposed by different industry forums. One of my Case Studies (or Follow Along) won the first prize for the results and the way I worked. This helped me to confirm that I was on the right track.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: Thanks to reading many books, I can say that I have become organized. When I wake up I list the tasks I have to do during the day on a whiteboard with markers. The satisfaction of crossing out the tasks never tires. I also use Notion and Google Calendar to block out spaces during the day to complete tasks.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: The industry is constantly changing and fortunately is tending towards the promotion of transparent, honest, and ethical products. But there is still a flip side and we all have to work together to make it fairer.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: Not too many right now, but it depends. I’m quite a fan of writing and explaining things in detail by mail, but I don’t miss my time as a Consultant where I spent half a day in the mailbox.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: On a personal level, I have to say that Instagram, although I’m not very proud of it. I can’t remember how many times I’ve deleted it and reinstalled it…

On a professional level, I would say Slack or Google Calendar, for communications or organizing the day.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: It depends on the day, but I try to go outside and do some sport.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Apart from the usual things (sharing with the family, traveling, buying the house and the car of my dreams), I would buy a ski resort and name it with my name.
