Estefanía Kasianczuk works as Business Developer in the Supply team at Tappx. In this interview she tells us some tips to be a good BD and also what she expects for the future of the industry.

Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I started randomly 10 years ago. I thought I was applying at a traditional advertising company but it turned out it was a programmatic agency. It was very new for me so it was super challenging as well but it was definitely worth it.

Q: What is the best part of being a Business Developer?

A: I really like my job. I love to work with objectives, see my efforts reflected in revenues, and realize that my work matters. However, the best part is being constantly in touch with people from all over the world.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good BD? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: I think that the most important skill to survive as a BD is to have a high level of tolerance for frustration because you will be ignored several times.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: The first big company I launched at Tappx was a famous Japanese video game studio. I chased them for more than a year and it was a very long negotiation … but I didn’t give up. When I finally got them I demonstrated to myself that I can definitely close important deals. Since then I have also launched large and well kwon companies in the gaming industry around the world.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: I would not be able to work without a CRM where I can see the conversation histories and I also schedule the follow-ups I have to make.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: I do know this industry will continue changing and evolving and that’s the most exciting thing about working at a tech company!!
I started with website monetization without even imagining how in-app advertising will grow and nowadays we are also working with CTV apps. Only time will tell where we will have to buy spaces for our advertisers in a few years.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: It depends on the day but an average of 70.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Whatsapp.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: Take my shoes off.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Buy a house and travel a lot paying for friends and family.
