Interview
In this interview, we chat a little with Carles, Business Developer at Tappx. He tells us about his beginnings in the industry and how important it is to be convincing and have self-confidence in yourself to succeed in the industry.
Answer: When I was living in Ciudad de Mexico I went to a meeting for the Catalan community in Mexico where we cook paella. There, I met two guys who will be my partners in different companies. First, we set up Baoads (performance campaigns) and after two years my other partner convinced me to jump into the programmatic world with RelapPro.
A: That you can manage the time and turn it so flexibly because you are based on results. Also, you are doing a lot of contacts which will be very useful throughout your career.
A: Try to be convincing and self-confident about what are you talking about. Also being intense and doing constant follow-up is important.
A: I closed a deal with one of the big TV Companies in Spain, and I feel so close to signing an agreement with one of the main economic and glamourous magazines of LATAM.
A: I used to work with Similar Web to get traffic info about new potential publishers to be onboarded. Also, LinkedIn is a basic tool to get new contacts.
A: Basically, we need to have access to private campaigns with the Agencies which I know requires a huge effort, also don’t hesitate to seek direct campaigns with the advertiser avoiding agencies and DSP fees.
A: Around 5-10. I don’t like to send massive emails to onboard new publishers. I prefer to contact previously via LinkedIn.
A: La Vanguardia (newspaper).
A: Go out for a running session, trekking, concerts, and have beers with friends.
A: Buy a house in Barcelona and in Caribbean Mexico. Also, travel a lot over the world.
