Demand AM Team Leader

Interview

We chat with Carla Gallardo about how to be a Team Leader and how to motivate a Demand Team to achieve the best results and work in a good environment.

Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I’ve always worked in the digital advertising industry. At Softonic, I started working with programmatic deals and got passionate about it, so I started focusing my career on it. For the past 4 years, I’ve been 100% focused on programmatic.

Q: What is the best part of being a Team Leader?

A: I love to see how each member of the team progresses and improves, and gives the best of themselves.

Q: Could you list some leadership tips?

A: I would say be honest (with yourself and with the team), learn from them, and give them autonomy to do.

Q: What skills do you look for in the people for your team?

A: Proactivity, honesty, and being a team player.

Q: How do you motivate your team to achieve the best results?

A: I try to give them the autonomy to try by themselves, but I am always available in case they need help. Also, I encourage them to help each other and create a good team environment.

Q: Tell us about a successful result achieved as a team and how did you get it.

A: The team has doubled this year, after having some rotation. In one week we passed from having 2 Account Managers, to having 4. The onboarding was fast due to the team spirit and help of everybody. Now looking forward to rocking it with a full team!

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: I look forward to seeing an increase in CTV activity. I think it’s still new and there is a lot to improve there.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: I don’t know how many I send, but I receive more than 100 reporting emails per day!

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: I think it’s Instagram…

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: I try to do yoga almost every day. If not, 5 minutes of meditation can work too.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Buy a house in the mountain to build a Bed & Breakfast, and travel!
