Question: How did you get into the AdTech industry?

Answer: This is my first professional experience in AdTech industry.
My first job was in the banking industry, in cybersecurity, and my specialization was SIEM.
Before starting at Tappx, I was working in the telecom industry, where I developed my skills in systems administration and in Google Cloud.

Q: What is the best part of being a Sys Admin / DevOps?

A: I consider that the best part is keeping learning day by day, as the tech industry is well-known for its several innovations so as a Sys Admin / DevOps I need to constantly learn about needed tools. That’s challenging!
I also love creating scripts to automatize tasks and applying my problem-solving skills. You never get bored in this position!

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good Sys Admin / DevOps? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: The main skill for a good Sys Admin / DevOps is patience. Other abilities will come with time.
Moreover, creativity and problem-solving skills are always welcome and helpful in this job. You need to be ready for unexpected errors or issues in the system.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: When I worked with SIEM I made such a useful script that the client requested it as a mandatory part of the contract. The best part was that I was only searching for a way to reduce the workload of my colleagues! But I’m still kind of proud of it.

Moreover, in the last company that I worked for, my colleagues and I were focused on the improvement of the infrastructure, implementing the best practices of Google Cloud, creating microservices with Kubernetes, etc.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: As I’m not so good at remembering things, I’m kind of addicted to reminder apps and calendars. The first thing I do when the PC is on is checking my Google Calendar so I can see if there are any urgent pending tasks. Being in constant communication with my colleagues is also important in case they need some help or there are any updates with common tasks.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: The steps that technology does forward are related to constant changes in our industry. That is why I think that in the near future, the need to automatize tasks will increase. As we have seen in the past months, AI is quickly developing. We probably need to focus and improve on how to work with these AIs.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: Currently, I’m not receiving many emails. I usually use Slack for communications.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Slack, the Unix terminal, and Firefox.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: Every day, when my working day finishes, I take my dogs for a walk. Having a good time with them easily makes me disconnected and happy.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: The lottery has many kinds of rewards… How much are we talking about? Hahaha.
I will probably spend more time with my family as they live far from Barcelona. Moreover, who does not like to travel? I would like to visit as many countries as I can, have adventures and connect with new cultures!
