Interview

This is Jon, from the Tappx Tech Team. In this interview he tells us what his day to day life at work is like and what he expects from the future of the industry.

Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I studied for a full-stack web developer master’s degree and, after that, I started my job search. A colleague from the master who already worked in Tappx recommended me.

Q: What is the best part of being a Tech Developer?

A: I like to read and decode systems, in this case, programmatic structures. When there is a problem, the process of investigating it is quite interesting. I also like to build and develop new systems and functionalities.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good TD? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: I think the most important are following an ordered and prebuild process, investigating the problem, or starting a new program. You also need to be open-minded to learn new ways of working, be prepared to receive constructive feedback, and accept that you can be wrong sometimes.

Q: Tell us about a recent success story or job goal you’re proud of.

A: I found an error in a network that was stopping all traffic from it and another that was saturating the server of a demand partner. I also helped to develop an important project for Tappx related to discrepancy emails and solved almost all issues related to it. For my own, I developed a project related to Error SAAS, which I am quite proud of.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: The most essential tool for me is Redmine where I can manage all the issues assigned to me, as well as those that are not assigned to anyone.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: Increase the interactivity between cookies share policies and the user to make it easier for users to understand which personal data are they sharing. I also find contextual projects related to IA very interesting.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: Not many emails. I usually talk with colleagues by chat or via Redmine.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: WhatsApp.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: Lay in bed for a few minutes, and go for a walk out with my dogs.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Buy a few properties, travel a lot, and develop projects that are not necessarily lucrative on my own.
