Interview

Javi Mauri has joined the team after finishing his internship in the company with a great performance. He is passionate about his job and a true team player. Let’s find out more about him in this interview.

Question: How did you get into the AdTech industry?

Answer: Because of the professional internship I had to do.

Q: What is the best part of being a Sys Admin / DevOps?

A: It is a very varied and entertaining job, except when the team does a deployment late in the afternoon. I have not yet experienced it, but it will come to me soon.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good Sys Admin / DevOps? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: My best advice is to never stop learning, know how to learn from mistakes, and not give up: if something doesn’t work the first time, it will work the second time, and if not, the third time, and if not…

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: My biggest success story is having finished my computer science degree and being able to work in this company, wink, wink.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: As soon as I start the day I check if there are new issues in Redmine. Then I do the daily meeting with my colleagues and start doing the pending tasks. If someone in the office needs something, I’m always there to help. In addition to Redmine, I work with Slack and the tools needed to manage the infra. My favorite tool is undoubtedly Slack.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: May it provide us with work for many years to come xD. The remote assistance tools, which I’m crazy about, are the ones that need to be improved.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: Yes, an average of 0.5, LOL.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Google Chrome and Firefox (Mano de santo).

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: Greet the cat and have dinner.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Fix up the house I have in the village and buy one here. I will also travel to Japan again.
