Mar López

Supply Account Manager

Interview

Meet Mar López, our new Supply Account Manager at Tappx. With a background in digital marketing and a passion for the fast-evolving world of programmatic advertising, Mar thrives on variety, client collaboration, and staying ahead of industry trends. In this interview, she shares how she got into the field, her go-to tools for staying organized, and why her mom still thinks she “works with computers”.

Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I got into it while doing my Master’s in Digital Marketing. We had a module on programmatic advertising, and I found it fascinating; technical, but with huge potential. It felt like the immediate future of advertising, so I decided to focus on it from then on.

Q: What is the best part of being an Account Manager?

A: The variety, 100%. Every client is different, no two days are the same, and you’re always learning something new. I love being the connection between the client and the internal team; it’s extremely rewarding when everything falls into place.

Q: Could you list some tips for becoming a good Account Manager? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: Be organized, a clear communicator, solution-oriented, patient, good at prioritizing, and always stay up to date with trends and new tech in the industry.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use, and which are your favorite?

A: I start by organizing my emails with tons of labels and colors — I need that visual clarity to survive the day. And always with Spotify playing in the background. I use tools like Google Calendar, Slack, Notion… depending on the project. But honestly, keeping everything tidy is the real secret.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: It really depends on the time of year. But let’s just say, during Q4… things get wild.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Slack for work, obviously. But outside of that, definitely Spotify. I always need music around or a good podcast.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: First thing I do is change into comfy clothes and step outside for a walk to clear my mind — it helps me reset after the workday. If the weather’s bad, I just stay in, chill with my partner, and we catch up over a good series. Simple but the perfect way to unwind.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Celebrate with an epic trip with my parents. Then I’d buy myself a house, and whatever’s left… straight to savings.

Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself

A: No matter how many times I’ve tried to explain it, my mom still has no idea what I actually do. She just tells her friends I “work with computers,” so now they all think I’m some kind of IT technician. I’ve kind of given up; her version is easier anyway.
