Question: How did you get into the programmatic industry?

Answer: I had the luxury to upsell our team’s first programmatic campaign in one of my previous jobs and, as a result, I offered myself to conduct our DSP’s internal training sessions for new employees. It was that experience that made me fall in love with programmatic and pursue a further career in the industry.

Q: What is the best part of being an Account Manager?

A: The opportunity of diving into large amounts of data which helps you gain a much more comprehensive understanding regarding consumer behavior and then further influence it through strategic optimization.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good AM? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: I believe being a data lover, having a passion for being the ‘communication channel’ combined with a great analytical mindset and questioning absolutely everything is the core of a good AM. Having a strong curiosity mentality is also key in order to adapt to an ever-changing landscape of our industry.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: We recently managed to onboard new inventory onto one of our accounts which seemed to be a little stagnated in terms of activity for quite some time, the account is now slowly scaling up with a clear plan in place on how we’ll be looking to turn it into a key account.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: I’ll write down my to do list before I start my working day and then follow up on that list throughout that day in order to hold myself accountable. One task at a time in order to maintain a sharp focus, although as an aspiring AM, I must be able to switch back and forth in-between multiple tasks with fair ease. Excel, Google Calendar and a personalized Notes view are my bread and butter.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: New emerging channels – something that excites me greatly. I am always eager to learn how we can get ahead of everyone else in order to leverage all the new opportunities and hopefully set ourselves as leaders of the new avenues.

A greater/more detailed real time access into performance data publisher/advertiser side is something that would allow us to have a much more comprehensive understanding of how success is being measured for every single party involved and optimize more efficiently based on everyone’s needs. I also believe that regulations for the new emerging traffic sources (Metaverse, etc.) is something to be addressed.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: From 5 to 15.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Beatport.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: Reading > Gym > Producing Music. In that order.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Invest it while diversifying revenue sources.
