Let’s meet our teammate at Tappx, Alena. She explains it’s like to work as a Junior Sales and the importance of the communication skills to build trust and connection with clients in the AdTech industry.

Question: How did you get into the AdTech industry?

Answer: To be honest, it’s my first experience working in the AdTech sector, although I am very excited about it because I think that AdTech has a lot of potential to develop in the next few years and it’s very exciting to work in a sector like that.

Q: What is the best part of being a Junior Sales?

A: The best part of working as a Junior Sales is learning opportunities to develop your sales strategies and having a chance to be able to interact with the customers directly, which gives the basis of interpersonal skills that are very important for a career in sales. Being a Sales Junior gives you a path to develop a career in the sales sector because you are able to learn from more experienced colleagues and get their feedback to improve and eventually grow professionally.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a Junior Sales? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: In my opinion, the essential skills for being a good Junior Sales is the ability to properly communicate with the client to be able to create trust and connection and understand the customer’s needs by asking the correct questions and listening actively. Of course, it is also very important to have a very strong knowledge of the product to be able to do a good pitch.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of.

A: I managed to do a big group booking that involved many processes of different areas of work such as the organization of flights and product arrangement for a big group traveling. It influenced a huge increase in my target. Also, the great and trustful relationship I created with the lead of the group influenced them to come back to do another group tour, specifically me next month after it.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones?

A: I use Salesforce to create tasks for each day and highlight the most important tasks to do first, this way every day when I start I see everything I need to do and know what tasks I need to prioritize first. Despite that, sometimes I also keep some notes and tasks in my notebook as an addition to Salesforce.

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: I think the AdTech industry has a lot of potential to grow and develop in the next few years. Things like Artificial Intelligence and machine learning will certainly affect the AdTech industry in a good way because they will automate many processes and make it more creative. Nevertheless, exactly for those previously mentioned technologies I believe it will be very important to notice the importance of the involvement of the human in order to make sure that everything complies with data protection policies.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day?

A: Probably about 30 emails.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Instagram.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: I go chill on the sofa with my cat and watch something funny.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: Most of it I would invest in things like real estate and crypto and the rest I would spend on traveling and clothes, just because I really love traveling and fashion.
