Let’s find out how the day to day of a Backend Developer talking with Juan Carlos, from Tappx team. In this interview, he talks about the essential tools for his job, the importance of having knowledge of databases and the ability to solve problems.

Question: How did you get into the AdTech industry?

Answer: I’ve always been fascinated by the world of technology 😍 and have been looking for opportunities to get more involved in it. Tappx is the first company I’ve been introduced to in the AdTech industry, and I couldn’t be more excited to start this new adventure in the industry. The combination of technology and innovation in advertising is really interesting to me, and I’m eager to learn and contribute my bit to this sector 🌟.

Q: What is the best part of being a Backend Developer?

A: For me, the best part of being a backend developer is the constant challenge 💻🔥. Every day presents new problems to solve and new technologies to learn. I love working on the «engine» of an application and making sure everything runs smoothly 🚀👨‍💻.

Q: Could you list some tips to become a good Backend Developer? What are the essential skills needed in your job?

A: To become a good backend developer, it is important to have a solid foundation in programming 💻 and a good understanding of software architecture. It is essential to have knowledge of databases, algorithms, and data structures. Additionally, it is important to have problem-solving skills 🤔 and the ability to work in a team.

Q: Tell us about a recent reliable client relationship, success story, or goal you’re proud of. 

A: A goal that I am proud of has been making the decision to turn my life around, going from working in a mechanic’s workshop a year ago to being part of the TAM team at Tappx.

Q: How do you organize your day? What tools do you use and which of them are your favorite ones? 

A: To organize my day-to-day activities, my favorite tool is Google Calendar 📅. It’s an easy and quick way to plan events. However, despite working in the tech world, I’m also a bit «old school» and always carry a notebook with me 📓 to jot down some important tasks and reminders. Although I love technology, I can’t resist the feeling of crossing off tasks on my list by hand. It’s like a little victory every time I do it! 🤣

Q: What do you expect from the future of the industry? What needs to be improved?

A: I believe that the future of the AdTech sector will be very exciting 🚀. There are many opportunities to improve personalization and the user experience 👨‍💻, as well as to make advertising more effective and relevant 🎯.

Q: Do you have any idea how many emails you send per day? 

A: As of today, I send about 5 emails per day 📧, but I’m sure that number will increase over time, at least by 5.

Q: What is the app you use the most in your daily life?

A: Right now, it’s Visual Studio Code and Google Meet.

Q: What is the first thing you do when you get home and disconnect from work?

A: When I get home and disconnect from work, the first thing I do is greet and play with my cat Kiara 🐾, who always comes to greet me. To disconnect, I like to exercise 🏋️‍♂️🚴‍♂️ and, if not, play some PC games 🎮🕹️.

Q: What would you do if you won the lottery?

A: If I won the lottery, first of all, I would secure my future and that of my family. Then, I would like to invest in technological projects 💻🚀. Additionally, I would love to travel and see parts of the world that I haven’t seen yet 🌍✈️.
